Tunnel Vision
Tunnel Vision is a short film about the physical, emotional and social challenges and hardships that come with aging. It follows the life of Polly, a senior Asian-Canadian immigrant who desperately fights to maintain her autonomy and independence as her health deteriorates, in spite of her family’s concerns and interventions. The cultural tensions present in the story are brought forth at varying levels; at the intergenerational level where younger family members struggle with the guilt of turning to nursing homes for their parents’ care, and at a societal level, where senior immigrants grow increasingly distant from their cultural bubbles.
Ningran Chen
Scénariste - Réalisatrice
Suite à l'obtention de sa maîtrise en architecture, Ningran Chen a l'opportunité de travailler avec le réalisateur renommé Taika Waititi sur sa série télévisée What We Do In The Shadows. Elle quitte donc Montréal pour se joindre à leur département artistique à Toronto. Elle travaillera alors sur la conception de décors pour la première saison de la série (cette dernière recevra dix nominations aux Emmy Awards en 2020) avant de revenir à Montréal pour entamer sa première réalisation Precious Cargo. Ningran est basée à Montréal.
